Annual Meeting and Dinner, April 29, 2010
“Orange County’s Black Gold” what a marvelous title for the Annual Dinner of the Orange County Pioneer Council. Jim Kettler did a masterful job of describing early oil exploration in the county. He told of oil fires in Brea that brought enough light to read on the porch of an Orange home in the middle of the night, Huntington Beach and their encyclopedia lots….all fascinating stories entwined with readings from our oral history books. It was a delightful evening of Orange County history. Please save the
date: October 17, 2010 The Annual Family Picnic will be held in the Corporate Park at the Santa
Ana Zoo on Sunday, October 17 at noon. Lunch will be provided. There will be
games for all ages. Plan on joining in on all the fun!!
